About Japanese Rose BI – Kirari (Sparkling)

Japanese Rose BI – Kirari is a vibrant and eye-catching Japanese rose with a playful interplay of colors. Its flowers combine yellow tones with light stripes, giving it a fresh, almost luminous appearance. This is a rose that brings movement and cheerfulness to the garden without losing its elegance.

Kirari is a rose that catches the light – each bloom feels just a little different.

The meaning of the name

Kirari (きらり / 煌り) means sparkling or glittering. In Japanese, this word refers to a brief moment of light or radiance that catches your eye. That is precisely the effect this rose has in the garden: playful, light and vibrant.

Japanese origin & breeding

Kirari was bred by Keisei Rose Nursery in Japan before 2003 and introduced that same year by Keisei Rose Nurseries Inc. under the name Kirari.

The rose belongs to the floribunda group, known for its abundant flowering and excellent garden performance.

Flower & fragrance

  • Flower color: yellow with lighter tones and stripes

  • Flower form: semi-double (9–16 petals)

  • Number of petals: up to approx. 15

  • Flower size: medium to large (approx. 8 cm)

  • Fragrance: light and subtle

  • Flowering: in waves throughout the season

The combination of color and flower form gives Kirari a playful, almost sunny appearance.

Growth & use in the garden

Japanese Rose BI – Kirari grows into a vigorous, well-branched shrub.

  • Height: up to approx. 120 cm

  • Type: floribunda

  • Position: sunny

  • Use: borders, rose beds, color accents

Thanks to its abundant flowering and strong growth, Kirari is highly suitable for bringing color and light to the garden, including in combination with perennials and ornamental grasses.

Japanese Rose BI – playful beauty

Kirari is part of the Japanese Rose BI selection from Belle Epoque.
BI (美) stands for beauty in the Japanese sense: lightness, balance and emotion. Within this collection, Kirari represents the sparkling, energetic element.
