About Gateway to Europe

Discover the radiant 'Gateway to Europe', a beautiful yellow shrub rose that will enrich your garden with a touch of sunshine. This charming semi-double rose, introduced by Warner in 2021, opens its medium-sized flowers from June well into October and releases a delicate, light fragrance. A true feast for the eyes and an irresistible attraction for bees and butterflies, which will happily find their way to this 'Gateway to Europe'.

Standing 80-100 cm tall, 'Gateway to Europe' is ideal for borders, creating vibrant rose hedges, or as a focal point in park plantings. This robust, fully hardy rose thrives in a sunny location (at least 6 hours of sunlight per day) and is known for its excellent health. It is a valuable addition to any gardener looking for a reliable, repeat-flowering yellow rose, although it is less suitable for long-term container cultivation.

Care & Plants
Deze roos wordt nu geleverd als roos met kale wortel (levering in november). Plant de 'Gateway to Europe' in de volle grond op een zonnige plek, met een plantafstand van 60 cm. Graaf een ruim plantgat, zorg voor goed doorlatende grond en bedek de oculatieplaats (verdikking tussen wortel en stengel) met ongeveer 5 cm aarde voor optimale bescherming.
Snoei deze struikroos in het vroege voorjaar, zodra de ergste vorst voorbij is (februari-maart). Verwijder dode, zieke of beschadigde takken en kort de resterende takken in tot 3-5 ogen boven de grond. Dit bevordert een gezonde groei en een rijke bloei.
Geef de 'Gateway to Europe' tijdens droge periodes extra water, vooral in het eerste groeijaar. Bemest in het voorjaar en na de eerste bloei met organische rozenmest om de doorbloei en vitaliteit te stimuleren. Een mulchlaag van compost helpt vocht vasthouden en verrijkt de bodem.
