Minnehaha at a glance
'Minnehaha' is an enchanting rambler rose that, named after the legendary Native American princess, adds a touch of romance and nostalgia to any garden. Introduced in 1928 by Michael H. Walsh, this old-fashioned and rare variety exudes understated beauty with its many small, double pink flowers (3–5 cm). A moderate fragrance fills the air in June and July, when this charming climber displays its full glory.
Reaching an impressive height of 400–600 cm, 'Minnehaha' is the ideal rose to train against a pergola, an old tree, or a sturdy fence, where it forms a lush, flowering waterfall. It is also exceptionally suitable for creating romantic rose hedges or planting in parks, where it creates a natural, fairytale-like atmosphere. This once-flowering rambler blooms profusely once, but its charm lingers throughout the summer.
At Belle Époque Rose Nursery in Aalsmeer, we cherish the rich history of roses. 'Minnehaha' is organically grown with care and passion (SKAL-certified) and shipped directly from our nursery, with more than 40 years of experience. You will receive a healthy, fully hardy bare-root rose, ready to enrich your garden with its timeless beauty.
Forty years of nothing but roses
Belle Époque is a family business, not a wholesaler. From our greenhouses in Aalsmeer, we have been growing only roses for over four decades — and every plant we send out is personally selected by us. This way, you receive not a catalog rose, but a plant ready to grow.
