About Mme. Plantier

Mme Plantier brings the romance of old rose gardens to your garden. Her richly filled flowers appear in clusters and change from creamy white to pure white. During summer flowering, they form a soft cloud of blooms over the gracefully arching branches. The strong, classic rose fragrance makes it tempting to pause by the shrub for a moment.

This historic rose was introduced in France by Plantier in 1835 and is generally classified among the Alba roses. It therefore predates the Belle Époque by many years. With its white pompon flowers and open growth habit, it embodies the charm of the nineteenth-century garden rose: a plant given room to show its natural form.

Mme Plantier blooms once each summer, but does so abundantly. Its long, flexible branches give the shrub a broad, elegant shape. It also has few thorns, making care and tying it in more pleasant.

Use it as a focal point in a white garden, as a spacious border shrub, or in an informal rose hedge. With support, you can also train it as a small climbing rose. It tolerates light partial shade, offering possibilities for locations with less sun.

Give Mme Plantier enough room to grow and provide fertile, well-drained soil. If necessary, prune directly after flowering: remove dead wood and gradually thin out older branches. This preserves its graceful shape and allows new flowering wood to develop.
